IT Technical Project Lead

Miami, FL
Full Time
Experienced
The IT Technical Project Lead (TPL) leads the end-to-end delivery of technology initiatives by owning scope, schedule, budget, resources, and communications across business and technical teams. This role combines delivery leadership (coordination and oversight) with hands-on technical leadership (design coordination and review) to ensure initiatives are executed with operational rigor—including change management, release coordination, and service transition to steady-state support. The project portfolio includes AI-enabled solutions as a primary focus area, along with Microsoft 365 and cloud services and data governance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities (IT Ops / ITIL-aligned)
  • Own end-to-end delivery from intake through closeout: define objectives, scope, success metrics, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, resourcing, and budget/costs.
  • Manage execution cadence: develop and maintain the integrated project plan, facilitate working sessions, document decisions/actions, and drive timely delivery of commitments.
  • Run project governance and controls: maintain visibility through risk/issue tracking (and related assumptions/dependencies), escalate appropriately, and drive mitigation and resolution to closure.
  • Provide technical delivery leadership (light design/review): coordinate technical design, drive solution decisions with IT SME’s, and review implementation plans (designs, runbooks, cutover steps) to ensure operational, security, and support readiness.
  • Lead release, change, and service transition (ITIL-ish): coordinate vendors/partners and cross-functional handoffs, manage CAB-ready change records/approvals, and execute release/cutover planning (communications, maintenance windows, deployment checklists, and hyper-support).
Types of Projects Supported (Examples):
  • AI-enabled solutions and automation initiatives (e.g., controlled rollout of enterprise AI tools, AI-assisted workflow pilots, agentic automation use cases, and governance-led enablement).
  • Data Governance initiatives (e.g., data security and compliance controls, information protection, approved data-source governance, analytics/BI enablement such as Power BI reporting, and data access governance).
  • Microsoft technology initiatives (Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure, Exchange, collaboration and productivity services).
Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience leading or coordinating projects in a corporate IT environment.
  • Strong skills in planning, budgeting, risk management, stakeholder management, and end-to-end solution delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Executive-level written and verbal communication skills with the demonstrated ability to distill complex, technical concepts into accessible, business-focused strategic narratives for all levels of the organization, including the C-suite.
